The first ever United Nations High Level Meeting on Nuclear Disarmament hosted fruitful discussions on the complete disarmament of nuclear weapons. The overwhelming majority of present delegations condemned the use of nuclear weapons and called for further action by nuclear armed states to accelerate the disarmament of nuclear stockpiles. Such precedents will strengthen future efforts by Member States and civil society to collectively address and press the issue forward.
